Nicolas Bussenius was educated in Port-au-Prince, France and Florida. For the past twelve years he has served as board member, treasurer and principal vice-president of the Northern Haiti Chamber of Commerce (CCIPN). The Mont-Joli Hotel, originally opened with six rooms in 1954, is nestled on a leafy hill of the same name overlooking the city of Cap-Haitien, its bay and the surrounding mountains. Family-owned and run for three generations, the hotel has grown to forty-one rooms. Nicolas Bussenius became the sole owner in November 2003.
Nic has been president of the local tourism association TOURINORD and president of the oldest Cap-Haitien Division 1 soccer team. Since 2002 he has been a warden in Cap-Haitien for the U.S. consulate.
