Mission and Medical Trips in Haiti

According to the U.S. State Department, Haiti is a Level 4: Do Not Travel. At this time, we will not be taking any mission, medical or dental trips. We will continually assess the situation and will resume trips when it is safe for travelers.

Whether you’re one of our generous sponsors, a church/youth group, simply love children and want to serve, or just interested in learning more about KAV before giving financial support, we encourage you to make the life changing trip to our village. We host numerous groups throughout the year in our very own onsite volunteer village. If you’re an education, medical or dental professional, we also have volunteer opportunities for you. Our kids and staff love meeting the men and women who are praying for them and we love introducing newcomers to the Haiti that we love.

Mission Trips

HHA hosts four mission trips to Cap-Haitien, Haiti each year. Trips typically occur in January, April, July and October. Our trips book up very quickly. If you are interested in attending a trip with us, please contact Melissa at melissa@hhangels.org for more information on trip availability. Interest meetings are also held throughout the year. Once committed, there will be a meeting one month prior to departure regarding the trip to review medical requirements, travel/ins paperwork, packing, Haitian culture, project areas, etc.

Dental Trips

Our McIntyre Dental Clinic provides quality dental care twice each year. Our dental team, led by Dr. Joe and Becky McIntyre of Virginia, treat all of our kids, staff, students, their families and our Dekle neighbors.

For most in Haiti, dental care beyond a necessary extraction is a luxury and preventative care in particular is almost unheard of. During our first dental clinic in April of 2016 (just 3 months after “accidentally” meeting the McIntyres), our dental team treated over 80 patients in just 2.5 days. We used a beach chair and table for dental chairs and relied on a McGyver-esque shop-vac for suction. Through the fundraising prowess of the McIntyres and the generosity of donors we now have real dental equipment. Dental care is one the immediate ways we are changing lives in Haiti. You can get involved by donating dental equipment, oral hygiene supplies, or participating in a dental clinic. You can also become a recurring dental clinic donor!

The kids' smiles are amazing and touch your heart and soul. We feel so blessed and humbled that God reached out and put us in the path of Bill and Debbie Harvey and the path of being a part of this beautiful community of people that are truly 'Turning Points' for so many in Haiti.

-- Drs. Joe and Becky McIntyre
